Time has been flying by and Christmas will soon be here. I can't believe it!
Because we put the tree up early this year, everything else seems to be falling into place with relative ease. I've sent out the cards and parcels, and most of the wrapping has been done. Next week more cleaning and a bit of baking and that should round things out.
In the meantime, I've been enjoying a few Amaryllis blooms and all that glitters both at home, in the malls and the snowy neighborhood.

ReplyDeleteI've always wondered what it would be like in Merry Ole England at Christmas time. Can't help but think of Dickens and the wonderful traditions he gave us. Over the holidays, I hope to see the movie "The Man Who Invented Christmas."

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what Christmas is like in Canada so don't have much to compare it to but when I was a child we had proper Dickens-style Christmasses with family and friends. We always had a big tree, lots of presents and a table laden with food and drink. The celebrations always lasted until well after the New Year, too.
These days I find that Christmas is mostly just one day, as everything is open again on Boxing day. We don't really have industry here anymore so most people work in retail or entertainment, especially where I live.
I hope you enjoy the film, it looks really good!
