Time has been flying by and Christmas will soon be here. I can't believe it!
Because we put the tree up early this year, everything else seems to be falling into place with relative ease. I've sent out the cards and parcels, and most of the wrapping has been done. Next week more cleaning and a bit of baking and that should round things out.
In the meantime, I've been enjoying a few Amaryllis blooms and all that glitters both at home, in the malls and the snowy neighborhood.
A cute snowman. I find some of them rather creepy, so he's the only one I have.
So...basically I just popped in to say have a Merry Christmas Day!
If you do not celebrate Christmas, enjoy the holidays.
And my very Best Wishes to all of you for the New Year too!
Thank you Dixie for the beautiful pictures of your bulbs, both in bloom and soon to bloom. I love snowmen, but feel the way you do about clowns. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Love, Joannie
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure, Joannie. The Belladonnas really do brighten up the place, especially on these dark days when the sun stands still in the sky.
DeleteHave a lovely Christmas time! Blessings for the New Year!

The Amaryllis is gorgeous. I am sure you are probably painting one too. Your decorations are lovely, and I think your snowman is very cute. Merry Christmas!!

DeleteThey do lift the spirits and make me smile.
Happy Christmas. My best to you for the New Year!
Hi Dixie, What lovely pictures, as always. I don't think I have ever seen amaryllis here in the UK but they are so v pretty. I've also been meaning to tell you how much I adore your swallowtail shawl, it's truly beautiful.Wishing you a really lovely Christmas and New Year. Love Karen x
ReplyDeleteLovely to hear from you, Karen. And a big thank you! Here the grocery stores sell Amaryllis. Much temptation. Hopefully, with luck and a good wind at my back,:)these bulbs will bloom again next year.
ReplyDeleteI've always wondered what it would be like in Merry Ole England at Christmas time. Can't help but think of Dickens and the wonderful traditions he gave us. Over the holidays, I hope to see the movie "The Man Who Invented Christmas."
Have a wonderful Christmas, Karen. My Best Wishes to you for the New Year, too!

I hope they do come back again next year for you, they really must steal the show at Christmas time.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what Christmas is like in Canada so don't have much to compare it to but when I was a child we had proper Dickens-style Christmasses with family and friends. We always had a big tree, lots of presents and a table laden with food and drink. The celebrations always lasted until well after the New Year, too.
These days I find that Christmas is mostly just one day, as everything is open again on Boxing day. We don't really have industry here anymore so most people work in retail or entertainment, especially where I live.
I hope you enjoy the film, it looks really good!
Best wishes to you and yours, Dixie.
Love Karen x
O, the old days were wonderful too. A lot of fun and fond memories abound for you and for me, I think.
DeleteThank you Karen for the good wishes.
Best Wishes to you and a Very Happy New Year.
Beautiful, Dixie! Wishing you a wonderful new year!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Renee. Have a very Happy New Year!
