As the days grow shorter, I am having an overwhelming urge to squirrel away some yarn for my winter knitting. With so many mail order options available, there's a lot to choose from. But in a few days, I'll be visiting a great yarn shop or two and then I can ooh and aah, in person, over the many beautiful colours and great, I hope, selection.
In the meantime, I've been hunting for pumpkins and a squash or two...

For me, one of the joys of knitting comes from the patterns. Each one is unique and usually a bit of a puzzle. I love to see the garments flow and come together, especially lace which often flowers into a work of art.

These pumpkins will soon be grinning or grimacing from a window or doorstep. |

My Darjeeling shawl. I love the construction. It's neat! I'll be looking for silk yarn so that I can knit another one that drips with drape. |
