Happened upon this scene in my travels. It struck my fancy. Love the old shed. The tree came down in a storm. Good to see the tree stump putting out new growth.
Another month and the ferns will be waist high or higher. Love them!
But if I lose the plot and pick a Trillium, I could be fined $500.
A trillium takes five years to mature.
Meanwhile in the Mall parking lot, more silly geese are a laying. As you can see the gander stays near. Looks like the city has quit putting barricades around the female, likely because it stresses the gander.
Walking along the waterfront, I didn't see the Cormorants in the shadows until they took off. Scared them and me.

Just read your profile - very interesting life you have! Ohhhh, the lakes are my favs.
To Spring (I sit here with a warmie, though, brrrr) - great sketch, have a nice T-Day.
Another lovely post Dixie. Spring has certainly sprung in your area and it is beautiful. I haven't seen a wild trillium in many years, but maybe it's that maturity time that makes them not so common anymore. And makes them special too. I love your Iris mug. It's perfect for right now. Have a super T day and week ahead. hugs-Erika
Hi Dixie. What a beautiful place to take a walk in. The photos are amazing. The trillium are my faves. I had lot's of them growing wild when I lived in N. Idaho. Since being in OR. I haven't seen any. We have plenty geese and cormorants here though. I do like your mug and the little yellow bird. Your portrait is beautiful. I don't see your link up for FFO. I don't think her eyes are too dark for this peice. They pop and are alive. Thank you for sharing this beautiful post.
Hi Iris,
I hope it warms up for you soon. It has been a spring of extremes so far.
Love the feeling of freedom spring brings though.
Thank you.
Yes, spring is here in all its glory.
The lilacs are starting to bloom as well.
Thank you, Erika. Best Wishes
Hi Nicole,
Today was a glorious day for a walk.
Thank you. I appreciate your lovely comments.
I usually post on Tuesday and do the link ups on Friday.
Thank you for hosting!
Sorry I'm late visiting. We had massive storms where I live and I turned the computer off yesterday to save it.
I'd never even heard the WORD trillium before, so did an internet search for it. Looks like the type you found was Great White. They would grow well in my front garden since there is so much shade, it's hard for anything to grow there.
In my city, people feed the Canada geese and they refuse to leave. They even raise their young here and seem to get enough food from people who toss it to then, they don't have the desire to scavenge or move on.
I adore that mug you shared for T. It's beautiful. Thanks for sharing it, as well as your drawing with us for T this Tuesday.
Beautiful spring greens and blooms. I love this time of year. Everything comes alive.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday, Dixie. ♥
That tree's not giving up! Lovely Spring pictures.
Happy to see the tree is putting out new growth. I had no idea Trillium takes that long to mature. One of my favourite flowers in the redwood forests. Silly geese indeed. Nice of the city not to put barricades around her. Another beautiful mug from your collection. Lovely photos and drawing, Dixie!!

Fun captures this week. I would love to be able draw. I picture it as so relaxing to just take the time to sit and create the drawing or painting.
Love the photos.
The woods waking up feels so hopeful, and that goose family in the mall lot gave me a smile.
Spring really does show up in the most unexpected places. πΈπͺΏ
Thanks for linking your very interesting post to AFFF
Happy weekend
Much love
I like the portrait's dark eyes -- makes her gaze look very piercing!
I love Canadian Geese, but Del Rio, TX is not on their migration pattern. I'm praying for peace too. Blessings!
Proof of the art everywhere we go. Loved it all.
Hi Dixie. I'm so happy your linked up. I really enjoy this post and I do like your portrait very much. Thank you for sharing with FFO and have a lovely weekend.
...I find it interesting that a tree can be cut to a stump and still it will try to grow! We such work for peace. praying doesn't seem to be work well.
Lovely spring photos!
We have so many geese here now. Many even stay for the winter.
The trillium flowers are pretty. I love the red ones as well. 3 petals and 3 leaves.
Name must have been fashioned from the trinity, I reckon.
Thank you.
Hi Sandee,
It is a wonderful time of year! After a long winter, spring gives oodles relief and freedom.
Have a great weekend.
Good to see the tree hanging on. Than you Keith.
Give it an ago, Pat. I’ve always wanted to draw and paint, so I got busy one day late in the game. If I can do it, you can too! It’s fun to draw…you can get lost for a long time.
Thank you. π Best Wishes.
Quite right, Veronica. :) Love spring!
Have a lovey weekend.
Thanks for hosting, Gillena.

Thank you, Debra.
Love to see a “skein” of geese flying in formation.
Best Wishes Rev Arnoldo.
Thank you Annie.

Always fun to join your “Friday Face Off.”
Thank you for all you do, Nicole.

Hi Tom,
Trees are amazing. Other trees will keep a stump alive forever.
I agree. Much needs to be done to promote and work towards peace.
Down came the tree.
It's wonderful to see the birds and the tree with new life. One of the species of cormorants nests here, and it's fun to watch those babies.
Lovely photos, thanks for sharing
Thank you, Christine
Yes, it did.
Best Wishes
Love birds! I've never seen a baby cormorant.
I bet they are cute.
And thank you, Shelleyrae.
I've always enjoyed your images, so calming!
'Praying for Peace' is mandatory...
All the best, Dixie! Be well and inspired!❤️π
